Warner Bros have officially unveiled the much anticipated sequel (Well, it’s a prequel) to their Batman – Arkham franchise, previous games of which include Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. You can see IGN’s take on the announcement below:
Whilst little is known about the game so far, what is known, and what is sure to cause controversy is the game is not being developed by series veterans Rocksteady, instead, development will be handled in house at Warner Bros., albeit with them using many of Rocksteady’s assets and their engine. The game has been confirmed for PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U, with no word on next-gen systems yet.
The game will be a prequel and feature many of the main rogue’s gallery, revolving around an assasanation plot against Batman. This will allow the devs to bring in many fan favourites, including the Penguin and hopefully The Joker.
Arkham Origins releases in October this year.
