The New York Times have a very interesting article and interview with Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner. You can read it here.
He remains tight lipped about the upcoming season, as is to be expected. We’re barely a week away from the double length opening episode and a proper trailer has yet to surface. With very few plot details floating around, aside from a trip to Mexico being on the cards, it looks like we’re going to have to be patient.
It’s interesting to note Weiner states he doesn’t really think about what’s going to carry over to the next season, in terms of tensions and ‘cliffhangers’, and that he had to make a decision between a two hour season opener or finale with AMC not giving him a choice. Personally I love it when we get these feature length episodes, as long as it doesn’t detract from the overall season length or budget, and in a programme like Mad Men, the budget is surely king.
Mad Men begins it’s penultimate season this Sunday.
